June 2015

Warning.....lot's remodel pics coming up....scroll past if you want to see more exciting pic of our family....ha!

This wall is coming down!!!
This wall got the most water damage in it.  When we bought this house I mentioned to Mark how I would love to open up the two rooms and take this wall down.  Mark said "Sure! Someday we can do that."  Well, someday is now!!
Here's the other side of the wall.
The workers put up the plastic.
The wall is behind the plastic.
Our contractor allowed the kids to help with the first few swings in the demo.

Silas had enough of the construction noise...he just wanted to eat in peace.
And now onto other things that happened in June......
My dad stared teaching Science to the kids.
Silas had the first of his two eye surgeries.
 Happy Silas....typical Silas.
I got to go into the operating room while they put Silas under.  I'm so glad I went. It was nice to be there to comfort him.
Getting ready....
Now just waiting for the time to go in for surgery.
The doctor came in and marked his right eye.....now we are ready to go!
After surgery in recovery.
Here's Silas two days later......a bit swollen but doing great.
This is our guest room.  June was a fun and full month for having guest.  We had 3 different families stay with us.
Mark's grandparents came to visit.  This was sweet because since then they both have declined in their activity and memory.  After this visit they were moved into an assisted living facility.
 Slip-n-slied time!!
The grandparents watched the fun in the water.
Grandpa Linn showed us all how to play competitive horseshoes.
And the kids showed him how to play tether ball.
Mark's mom, Lulu and Grandma Teddy enjoying some shade under the tree.
 Tea party time.
 We celebrated Father's day!
We spent some time swimming at Arrowhead reservoir.
Here's Lulu enjoying the daisy's in our yard.
What a fun June!!

May 2015

Silas turned 2!!!  We celebrated with a thank you party for everyone who supported us through Silas' open heart surgery and recovery. The party was a time of thanking God for all He has done this past year in Silas' life.
We had a caked gifted to us.
My sweet children!!
Mark's mom Connie did all the flowers for the party.
 Silas and Grammie-goo
 Silas and Mema
A sweet friend of ours put together a video showing the memories of Silas' time in the hospital and recovery.
Then we had a wonderful time of worship and giving thanks to God for the mighty deeds He has done in Silas' little life.
We are really good friends with Silas' pediatric cardiologist and his wife.  They go to church with us and gave him a doctors kit....so thoughtful and cute!!
 One year apart!!  Same suite.
The girls got haircuts.....and bangs.
Lulu and I had a violin recital and played a duet.
Isla May turned 4!!!  She got a pretty doll and matching dress......she was thrilled.
Four years old!!!  Such a fun age.
Levi's been helping me in the kitchen a lot.  He loves to help.
And our house is all dried out, now we are planing the repair/remodel.
First we need to remove the red wallpaper.  I had some amazing helpers.
Mark and I celebrated our 10th anniversary!!!  We celebrated the actual day by attending one of our required classes to become a certified foster family.  It was very sweet and in a way symbolic of our marriage and what God has done in the past 10 years.

April 2015

My parents bought a house just down the road from us and moved to Idaho!!!  My mom moved first while my dad stayed back in WA to finish up some things there.
We had a flood upstairs that flooded our downstairs and started our adventure into remodeling the house.
This is our old formal dining room that we never used as a dining room but as a tumbling room for the kids since there was nice plush carpet....LOL.  This is is where a lot of the water damage happened.  Five rooms in our house were flooded!!!  Two upstairs and 3 down.
These lovely fans got to be in our house for a good week running day and night.....it was very loud.
This is looking into Mark's office that got a good amount of water damage.
Here is a picture taken from in our homeschool room looking into the formal dining.
We had a chandelier hanging in this room that became water logged and fell out of the celling the moment one of the workers touched it.
All this water damage was from ONE load of laundry that emptied onto the floor and not in the hose....it wasn't running water, just the ONE load draining!  We never in a million years thought we would have this much damage.
