8 Years!!

Eight years ago today Mark and I got married.
Biblical marriage is so precious.  I'm so grateful I get to experience God's plan for marriage with Mark.  We truly are blessed, 8 years, 4 children and best friends.
The picture below is 8 days before we got married.  We went into Downtown Seattle to get our marriage license.  I remember how exciting this was.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.  What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
Mark 10:6-9

7 Years!

Seven years ago today Mark and I got married.  I married my best friend. We have the best life and I'm so thankful to God for picking Mark to be my husband.  I remember when I was a little girl my mom and I would pray for my future husband.  I always wondered who that would be.  We prayed that God would be with him and protect him.  It's amazing to think I was praying for Mark when I was a little girl.  Mark is a godly man who leads our family and is so patient.  He loves the Lord and his heart is for family.  His hobby is our family! I'm so blessed that when Mark has a moment to relax he chooses to spend it with me and our children. I love you Mark and thank you for loving me so much.

Happy Leap Day!

The kids wanted to wish you a Happy Leap Day!
Now here's a question we have been asking one another.....if you were born on Feb. 29th would you celebrate your birthday the regular years on Feb. 28th or March 1st? Or would you only celebrate it on the authentic day?
ETA: I would want a big party only on the authentic days. Mark said he wants his cake early and would celebrate on Feb. 28th.  Lulu said she likes her birthday in April....lol.
We were very blessed by our dear friend Kathy who gave us her grandsons train table that he grew out off.  The kids are having so much fun and it works great in our new play room.  Kathy is Mark's mom's best friend.  She also is so sweet and sends me her Value Village coupons in the mail when she gets them.  Isn't that so thoughtful?  Also her husband Steve and her won the longest married couple at our wedding back in 2005.
And here is the train table.  Thank you Kathy! The kids LOVE it.

6 Years

Today Mark and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary.  Six years, 3 children, 3 homes and 3 different cities.  We have had an amazing 6 years.
This picture is of us 8 days before our wedding when we went to go purchase our marriage license at the court house in Seattle.  The funny thing I remember about that day was that they only took cash so we had to run around searching for a cash machine and also the lady behind the desk was so nice and excited for us to be getting married, she took this picture.

A Garden Wedding

This evening my cousin K.C. got married to her husband Luke. It was a very relaxed, fun, beautiful, outdoor wedding. It was held at her parents home. Everyone stood around and watched the ceremony. We stood up on the deck and had a great view. Lulu had been looking forward to going to this wedding for a few days now. And finally when she saw K.C. walking down the aisle she stared jumping up and down. Here are the guys watching from the deck. There were 2 dogs walking around and Levi actually was more into the dogs then the wedding. Such a boy. Here is K.C. and Luke right after they were pronounced husband and wife. Here is my dad and mom with Lulu and Levi. K.C. my cousin who got married is my mom's older brother's daughter. Got that?Lulu was thrilled to get these two flowers. After the bouquet toss was over and all the women left the area there were these two flowers that had fallen out of the bouquet and onto the ground. What a thrill for a 3 1/2 year old to find and be able to enjoy.
Then the band started to play and K.C. and Luke had their first dance.
Here is my brother Todd and his beautiful wife Stephanie enjoying the dance floor.
Here is Todd and Stephanie with Levi. Here is K.C., Lulu and I. K.C. is my younger cousin by 3 years. It's so amazing to see her get married and be so grown up. We had a great time and are so happy for K.C. and Luke.

Fifth Anniversary

Five years ago today Mark and I got married in Seattle, WA. I was 22 years old and Mark was 29. It was a beautiful, sunny, HOT (90+°) day. Both Mark and I had so much fun at our wedding. We didn't stress over anything so we had no disappointments. I can't believe it's been 5 years! We have had so many wonderful moments. Yes, it's been hard many days but we believe God gives us our spouses so we can be more Christ like. Mark and I wouldn't change a minute of our last 5 years....well maybe that one day back in 2006......just kidding.
We got married in a church that was 100 years old. This wasn't our church but we liked it and our pastor could marry us in it.
Here is my dad walking me down the aisle. Growing up we would always talk about "when" he would walk me down the aisle. We would talk about what we would be talking about, inside jokes and how special it would be.....and yes, it was special. This was the only time I got nervous, but once we started walking I relaxed and enjoyed seeing everyone.
Here is my mom and I. She was my wedding planner/support person. We had so much fun planning it. We had what we called "Wedding Wednesdays." The only time we would do anything wedding would be on Wednesdays. This way we didn't get overwhelmed. It turned into a very fun and special time for us.
Here is our wedding party. Both Mark's brother and my brother were in our wedding. Mike is Mark's older brother and he's standing right next to Mark. Todd is my older brother and he's in the front row on the very left. The rest of the party were friends and two cousins.
As a wedding gift some friends of ours took us from our reception to our hotel on their boat. The hotel we stayed at was across the lake from the church where we got married in so it worked perfectly. They made it really memorable for us. They had refreshments waiting for us and we got to go watch the sunset on Lake Washington. It really was a nice relaxing time after the hoopla of a wedding and reception. Here we are after our fun boat ride.
The next morning we had to catch a plane to Puerto Viarta, Mexico......stay tuned, I have pictures from that coming tomorrow.
